Bachert, Anthony - 1839 petition for further consideration of Nicholas Bachert's (his father) estate – 29 viewsFound in Columbia County Orphan's Court Book 3, this incredible find gives us the names of Anthony Bachert's father, and 9 of his siblings.
The claim itself was denied, as found in another document found about 2 months later in the same Orphan's Court Book.
According to this record, Anthony's father's name is Nicholas who had 10 children to be considered in the matter:
Michael
Anthony
Philip
Barbara - who married John ( illegible: Lawna, Leona, Towns?)
Elizabeth - who married John Stetler
Susanna - who married John Deamer
Catherine - who married James Armstrong
Mary - who married James Swisher
Salome - who married George (illegible: Barts, Bods, Bets?)
Jacob - "now deceased" but left children William, Joseph, Jacob, Daniel and David to be considered in the matter, and a further note that Daniel and David are yet minors for whom John Swisher was named guardian in the matter)
Will Book #1 states that Letters of Administration were granted to Philip on June 2, 1824.

Bachert, Anthony - denial of claim for further consideration from his father's estate – 22 viewsIn 1839 Anthony Bachert petitioned for further consideration in the matter of his father's estate. His claim was that he had not been adequately compensated in the matter of his father's ground in Madison Township, Columbia County, and was petitioning for partition of the property.
This record is the court's answer to his petition and appears to be a rather resounding denial to his request.

Bachert, Nicholas; Bachert, Anthony – 16 viewsThis recap is taken from the Orphans Court Records in Columbia County, Pennsylvania.
The matter at hand is a suit filed by Anthony Bachert via one Jacob Rishel. The suit names the heirs of Nicholas Bachert, including the children of his deceased son Jacob.
One of the mysteries of this so far is "which Jacob Rishel?" It would not be hard to assume that this is likely the 2nd husband of Anthony Bachert's estranged wife, Catharine (Ebner) ((Bachert)) Rishel, who died either in late December of 1829 or very early January 1830. Her probate records begin in Orphan's Court records as early as 5 January 1830.
There is enough correlation between this document and the Frank Allaben report to Augustus E. Bachert some 70 years later to lead me to believe that Anthony was indeed the brother of the Michael Bacher buried at Zion "Stone Church" in West Penn, Township, Schuylkill County.
