From the records of Rev. John Caspar Stoever we find a family who he served as pastor, but without indication as to where.
According to Stoever he baptised 2 sons of Antonius Heuteler:
John Matheis:
born September 19, 1738
baptised October 16, 1738
Antonius:
born April 5, 1741
baptised May 18, 1741
I have no idea how this all plays out in Hittle genealogy, but the record is there, and presents some interesting situations for us.
a) Matheis was born only 14 days after Georg Michael Hittel's arrival at Philadelphia on the Winter Galley.
b) that would suggest that Antonius Sr probably predated GMH's arrival, but would not establish it in such a way as to be irrefutable.
c) Is "Heuteler" close enough to Huettler to be considered to be a possible family tie?
d) the record I am referencing is a transcription, and not a view of the actual record itself, so Heuteler may actually have been closer to Huettler than the printed transcription might suggest.
All of that to say, we've got some more to sort out here!
