In 1762 and 1770, Johan and Anna Margaretha (Roehrig) Ebener baptized their sons Lorentz and Conrad at what was known as Mertz Church, Rockland Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania.
"Johan Ebener and wife Anna Margaretha Roehrig" also appear as baptism sponsors in 1758 in the Mertz Church records.
While Johan (John) Ebener is not found in the records of Ben Salem Church, Lorentz, Conrad and their mother Margaretha are, quite frequently.

The tombstone of Lorenz Ebner at Ben Salem is indeed helpful in that it names him as the son of Johan and Margareta Ebner.
While Salome's stone is much harder to read, that Lorenz' stone has a "aged statement" that is fairly easy to read helps to confirm that this is indeed the son of Johan and Margaretha Ebner who baptized their son Johan Lorenz at Mertz Church in Rockland township, Berk County, Pennsylvania. |
