The family of William Sapp recognizes that William's first wife was the widow of Jonathan Claypoole, and also recognize that she was Hannah Doane.
The link above takes you to a conversation I've recently had with a descendant of William and his second wife, Sarah O'Neal, who he married in Pike County, Missouri after the death of Hannah Doane in the late 1820's. Included in this conversation is a roster of Hannah and William Sapp's children, and some insight as to why "we" may have lost contact with Hannah's family.
It may well be revealed, now that the reconnection is made some 180 years after its occurrence, that there was actually no disconnection at all between Hannah and John, but that will be the fodder for future posts here.
I'm simply excited to learn that the Sapp family has held the knowledge in their consideration in such a way that it seems that we may finally reach conclusive evidence that what we've believed for so long has documentation to support the belief.
Here's hoping this works out in the way I could only dream about for so long.
